Anyone for a Quest?
Among the things that set people apart from plants is that we go on quests. Some have as their ultimate quest channel-surfing until they find a program that allows them to lay down the remote control. Others want to climb every mountain. My quests are my own, often ones that no one else would care to undertake. Their quirky (or ridiculous) nature appeals to my creative nature. I think. So, here they are. Some involve collecting items, while others depend on travel for their fulfillment.
My Music Quest: Own Every Top 40 Hit.
Why? The source tapes of a lot of old songs are degrading, and the songs have not made it to CD. I would like to own a clearinghouse of digitized versions of every hit song.
My Other Music Quest: Replace My Lost 45s.
A bunch of records I loved as a kid were destroyed when I was 12. I am slowly getting the 45s back into my collection, as well as a couple of the more significant LPs. If anyone wants to sell me "Laughing Over My Grave" by Ray Stevens, let me know.
My Bar-B-Quest: Famous Dave's Restaurants I've Visited.
This quest involves travel, and lots of it. Being a Famous Dave's groupie gives me an excuse to visit towns I would never see otherwise, and I get to eat lots of barbecue.
MugQuest: My State Mug Collection.
I didn't intend for this quest to happen, but once I owned two state mugs, the game was on. I've seen 48 states, but I have to revisit some to get a mug.
My Writing Quest:
I put this goal here to remind me that I want to see one of my books turned into a movie.
