My Favorite Mascot Ever since I played the Noid once for Domino's Pizza, I have had the utmost respect for mascots. People who put on those outfits run the risk of scaring little kids (my son ran screaming when I tried to hug him), overheating, being kicked and pushed around, and hearing language that people would not use with them if they were out of their costumes. Recently, one guy I know got stuck in a costume and spent a good two hours being extricated from it. My favorite mascot appears at one of the restaurants I frequent in St. Cloud, Old Country Buffet. The O.C. Bee walks around on Family Night, waving to the children, accepting hugs, doing a little bee dance, and generally making the place more cheery. Here's the Bee, giving a cheery thumbs-up: And should you doubt that I am tight with this particular Bee, check out the proof: So there! You should come to see the Bee. If you do, you can see the Bee's matching green shoes. You can get a paper Bee hat and some crayons to color with while you're there. And the food is good. |
