| Famous Dave's in Waite Park/St. Cloud, Minnesota! Recent news: The last week of April, 2009 was Customer Appreciation Week at the Waite Park/St. Cloud Famous Dave's. I decided I would make it Famous Dave's Appreciation Week, and I stopped in to eat every day that week. (Actually, I went eight days in a row.) The managers were handing out items to show their appreciation: marinades, pork jerky, Famous Dave's how-to BBQ DVD, and the like. I got a couple of those, but on Day Seven, They gave me the Famous Dave's Gift Set, which contains eight stainless-steel grilling tools in a classy metal case. See the photos below. Buy your own merchandise at the merchandise shop. You'll be glad you stopped by! Here is my original essay on the opening of the St. Cloud Famous Dave's: It finally happened. On November 12, 2007 at 11:00am, Famous Dave's opened at 310 3rd Ave NE in Waite Park, on the lot of Crossroads Shopping Center, just feet from St. Cloud proper. I was there for the opening, and I enjoyed my first local Georgia Chopped Pork sandwich. I'm amused and happy to see that this page is the #1 link for a Google search on Famous Dave's of St. Cloud/ Waite Park! Readers of this page have had kind comments for me, so the least I could do is give you the info you're looking for: Address: 310 3rd Ave NE, Waite Park, MN 56387, by Target at Crossroads Center Hours: Sunday-Thursday 11-10, Friday-Saturday 11-11 Note: There is no phone-ahead seating (yet), and no reservations are taken. If there is a wait, immediate seating is available right at the bar, where you can order your entire meal. However, you can't take the bar tables, which are seated by the hosts. Another option is to buy your barbecue To Go. It's not a good idea to eat it in your car in January, though. If you have found this page helpful, please let me know via my contact form. Check out my other pages from the list to the left. Don't forget to look at my page on the rest of the Famous Dave's. Thanks! I am going to leave up the construction photos (below), and I have some photos from Day One to share:

The whole story of the arrival of Famous Dave's in St. Cloud is archived below: It's official: Famous Dave's opens in Waite Park, Minnesota (a few feet from St. Cloud) at 11:00am on November 12, 2007. After I moved to St. Cloud in 2003, I wondered why there would be a Famous Dave's in Cross Lake and Maple Grove but not in St. Cloud. Finally, that shocking injustice will be rectified. A Famous Dave's location is under construction as I write, and I will keep this page updated so my readers can know when to start lining up. The opening is scheduled for November 12, 2007! See you there! Note the evolution of the site: From a former discount movie house to a bunch of lumber, then the walls, then the entrance, then the stone, a temporary sign, and finally an inflatable pig, as if people hadn't been reading this site and getting the scoop! November 11, 2007: The crew is in training, and everything is ready to go. I took a photo of the door (sorry about the reflection) and the bar area. While I was taking the November 11 photos, five cars drove up to see if the place was open. Now all we need is for them to let us in. As far as I know, we're still on for November 12.
